A time sitting in prayer with coffee in my hand 손에 커피를 든 묵상 시간

I put in the keurig cup.

Then i pour water into the coffee machine.

It is a cheap one of its kind made to make one cup of coffee each time.

But it is a gadget that I frequently use and love.

 

I place a cup in the holder then press the button to activate the machine.

 

After the coffee streams then drips

I pick up my cup and place it on a coaster.

 

I sit looking at my cup of coffee

Smelling the fresh aroma

 

Then i hold the cup in my hand and sip.

Once.

It's hot.

Then again I sip.

 

The tree view from my window is deliciously cool and summery.

It's heading autumn

And somewhat there is a chill in the air.

 

And I muse.

The Meditation book that I am reading tells me

You sit

You sit up straight

Close your eyes

And breathe

And start

 

Meditation.

 

 

 

A prayer time with coffee

Something I read about

And now do.

 

I think of God

With the coffee in hand

The works of our Lord.

And sip quietly

 

And venture a word to Him, our Holy Father.

 

 

컵커피를 기계에 꽂는다.

물을 커피 기계에 붓는다.

한번에 커피 한 컵을 만들 수 있는 값싼 기기지만

자주 쓰고 내가 참 애착을 갖는 머신이다.

 

컵을 놓고 작동 버튼을 누른다.

 

커피 물줄기가 흐르다 뚝뚝 떨어진다.

나는 컵을 빼내어 상 위 컵받침 위에 놓는다.

 

그 커피컵을 바라본다

그리고 커피 향내에 젖는다

 

이내 그 컵을 들고

한 모금 마신다.

뜨겁다

또 한 모금

 

내 창문에서 본 푸르른 나무 풍경은 시원한 여름이다.

가을이 다가오고 있고

왠지 공기엔 서늘함이 깃든다.

 

 

난 생각에 빠진다.

내가 읽고 있는 묵상에 관한 책에서는

앉고

정자세를 하고

눈을 감고

숨을 내쉬며

 

명상 묵상을

시작 하라 한다.

 

 

 

커피와 하는 기도시간

내가 읽어본 어딘가의

한 지인의 명상 모습

 

 

나는 하나님을 떠올려본다

커피를 들고

주님께서 일으켜주신 기적을 이렇게 기리며

한 모금 마셔본다.

 

 

그리고는 하늘에 계신 하나님께

기도를 찬찬히 올린다.
